The PRINT Rail Dual Diameter is part of a 3D-printed aluminum handguard ecosystem for the SIG MCX family, engineered specifically for suppressed shooting. Originally conceived several years ago in response to a contract solicitation, the concept remained beyond the capabilities of traditional extrusions or conventional machining until recent advances in aluminum additive manufacturing made the design and cost feasible.

Its dual-diameter profile extends over the suppressor to create an integrated thermal barrier that helps protect the shooter from accidental contact with hot suppressor surfaces. Combined with a heat shield system, advanced thermal coatings, and a high traction exterior texture, the PRINT Rail DD is designed to reduce heat transfer to the shooter's support hand, providing a cooler, more comfortable shooting experience during extended firing. The PRINT Rail DD does all of this while still allowing airflow to reach the suppressor to improve cooling compared to suppressor wraps or covers.

By enclosing the suppressor, the PRINT Rail DD also helps reduce the exposed thermal signature while maintaining a slim, ergonomic profile where the shooter naturally grips the rifle.
